Endpoints News scheduled its Post-Hoc Live discussion for Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 1:
30 p.m. ET. Executive Editor Drew Armstrong and Senior Reporter Max Bayer were joined by biopharma policy and politics expert Nick Shipley.
The discussion focuses on the midterm results and their implications for biopharma, including scrutiny of the administration’s “most favored nation” drug-pricing deals, investigations involving HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., China policy, US research funding, and FDA policy and personnel.
Following Democrats’ reported gains in Congress, analysts expect more oversight and hearings on drug pricing and industry practices. Major near-term policy changes may still be difficult, while existing pricing arrangements could remain in place.
Other likely areas of attention include Medicare drug-price negotiations, pharmacy benefit managers, vaccine policy, NIH funding and FDA review capacity. The outcome could mean more pricing pressure alongside potential support for public research and regulators.
