On October 30, 2026, Sanofi said it has no plans for a major business or R&D restructuring, despite preparing for Dupixent’s expected loss of U.S. patent exclusivity in 2031.
CFO François-Xavier Roger framed the priority as getting better returns from existing R&D investment—not simply cutting costs. Sanofi has already stopped some development programs and is trying to improve research productivity.
Sanofi plans to supplement its own pipeline with selective deals, especially for late-stage or marketed medicines and some early-stage projects in immunology, rare diseases and vaccines. Executives did not signal an imminent large acquisition.
Dupixent remains a major growth driver:
strong third-quarter sales helped Sanofi raise its 2026 outlook. But the drug’s importance to revenue makes finding future growth sources a central concern.
