InventisBio reports Phase III psoriasis win for nomelcitinib

InventisBio reported that nomelcitinib (D-2570), its oral, selective TYK2 JH2 inhibitor, met the primary and key secondary endpoints in a registrational Phase III trial for moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in China.

The placebo-controlled study enrolled 391 patients. At week 16, more than 70% of patients in each nomelcitinib dose group achieved PASI 90—a 90% improvement in psoriasis severity—and more than 80% reached clear or almost-clear skin on the Physician’s Global Assessment. Both results were significantly better than placebo, according to the company.

The company reported no new safety signals and described the treatment as well tolerated. Detailed comparative numbers and fuller safety data have not yet been reported in the available coverage.

A separate China Phase III trial is comparing nomelcitinib directly with Bristol Myers Squibb’s Sotyktu (deucravacitinib). That head-to-head study will be important for judging how the candidate compares with the marketed rival; the placebo-controlled win alone does not establish superiority over Sotyktu.

InventisBio is also conducting a Phase II psoriasis study in the United States. The company has not disclosed a filing timeline for China.
