On October 30, 2026, Eos SENOLYTIX announced preliminary interim results for PTC-2105, its mitochondria-targeted geropeptide, from an ongoing 32-week study in aged rats at Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s BIO-VITAL facility.
In the oldest male-rat cohort, once-weekly 0.5 mg/kg PTC-2105 was associated with rotarod performance near baseline at Week 16, while vehicle-treated animals declined by about 76% (reported difference:
78.4 percentage points; p=0.012). Rotarod distance also favored treatment.
At Week 8, fat mass fell 14.5% from baseline with the 12.5 mg/kg dose, versus 8.2% with vehicle (p=0.018). Grip strength results favored treatment numerically but were not statistically significant.
The company said the findings are consistent with earlier aged-mouse results and add data from a second species. It is targeting first-in-human trials in 2027, subject to regulatory clearance.
Important caveat:
these are company-reported interim findings from small groups—Week 16 rotarod results compared just 3 treated rats with 4 controls—and the study is ongoing. They do not establish benefit or safety in people.
