Roche and China’s Hansoh Pharmaceutical announced a collaboration and licensing deal for a portfolio of antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) programs, potentially worth more than $15 billion to Hansoh.
Hansoh is due $400 million upfront and another $110 million on the deal’s first anniversary. The headline figure above $15 billion is mainly potential development, regulatory and commercial milestone payments—not guaranteed cash.
The portfolio includes two preclinical Hansoh ADC programs and additional programs using Hansoh’s technology against targets proposed by Roche.
Hansoh will lead early development through global Phase Ia trials. Roche will then take over development and commercialization outside mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan; Hansoh retains rights in those territories.
Hansoh may also opt to help develop up to two programs outside those markets, potentially earning additional commercial upside. It is also eligible for tiered royalties on future sales.
