DaltonTx announced on October 15, 2026, that it received a grant from the Gates Foundation for AI-assisted tuberculosis drug discovery.
The project will use DaltonTx’s platform to screen hundreds of essential and vulnerable Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins, seeking promising drug targets and chemical starting points.
The team plans to assess its models against existing biological and chemical data to test their predictive performance.
DaltonTx is partnering with the nonprofit Ersilia to share validated models, datasets, and workflows through the Ersilia Model Hub, and to support training and deployment in the Global South.
The announcement describes the work as computational research to identify candidates for future drug discovery—not as a new TB treatment or a clinical-stage drug.
