BMS’s admilparant clears Phase 3 IPF endpoint at lower dose

Bristol Myers Squibb’s Phase 3 ALOFT-IPF study met its main endpoint at the 60 mg twice-daily dose:
admilparant significantly improved the change in forced vital capacity (FVC) at Week 52 compared with placebo.

The 120 mg dose also appeared to slow lung-function decline, but the result was not statistically significant—leaving questions about dose response and the size of the benefit.

The trial enrolled about 1,255 adults with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). BMS reported that admilparant was generally well tolerated at both doses, with adverse-event-related treatment discontinuations low and similar to placebo.

The results have raised interest in the drug’s potential as a first-in-class LPA1 inhibitor, but fuller trial data are needed to assess its clinical and commercial prospects. BMS said detailed findings will be presented at a future medical meeting and that it plans discussions with regulators.

BMS is also studying admilparant in progressive pulmonary fibrosis; results from the Phase 3 ALOFT-PPF study are expected in early 2027.
