AstraZeneca previews four Phase III survival presentations at ESMO 2026

AstraZeneca says it will present more than 100 abstracts at the ESMO Congress, held October 23–27, 2026; five are from pivotal Phase III trials, with four selected for Presidential Symposia.

The gastric-cancer update is from CLARITY-Gastric01:
Sone-Ve (sonesitatug vedotin) showed a statistically significant, clinically meaningful overall-survival benefit in previously treated CLDN18.2-positive advanced gastric or gastroesophageal-junction cancer versus investigator’s-choice therapy. The company says this is the first Phase III trial of an anti-CLDN18.2 antibody-drug conjugate to show an OS benefit in this setting.

SAFFRON will report on Tagrisso (osimertinib) plus savolitinib for MET-driven, EGFR-mutated non-small-cell lung cancer after prior treatment, compared with platinum-based chemotherapy.

The other two featured studies involve Imfinzi (durvalumab):
VOLGA evaluates perioperative Imfinzi with neoadjuvant enfortumab vedotin for certain patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer; Amgen-led DeLLphi-305 evaluates Imfinzi plus tarlatamab as first-line maintenance for extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer.

The announcement describes planned presentations; the detailed results are scheduled for the congress. It refers to savolitinib, marketed as Orpathys in some regions.
