AltruBio reported Phase 2a results for ALTB-268 in adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis who had an inadequate response to prior advanced therapies. The data were presented at UEG Week 2026 on October 20.
At Week 12, clinical remission was reported in 3 of 13 participants (23.1%) in the higher-dose Cohort 2, compared with 4 of 35 (11.4%) in the lower-dose Cohort 1. The study was open-label and exploratory, so these results do not establish comparative efficacy.
The company also reported an exposure-response signal:
7 of 18 participants (38.9%) with a Day 29 trough drug concentration at or above a specified threshold achieved remission. The available search summary did not provide the threshold value.
AltruBio described ALTB-268 as a subcutaneous antibody targeting PSGL-1. It said the findings support further study and that a placebo-controlled Phase 2b trial, including both advanced-therapy-experienced and -naïve patients, is planned to begin in 2027.
These are company-reported early-stage findings; a larger randomized, placebo-controlled trial will be needed to better assess benefit and risks.
