On Oct. 5, 2026, Abbott announced FDA approval of updates to its CardioMEMS HF System that add patient-facing features through the CardioGuide HF App.
With care-team permission, U.S. patients can view their pulmonary artery pressure readings and trends on an iOS or Android smartphone. Changes in these pressures can signal worsening heart failure before symptoms appear.
The approval also covers Dynamic Treatment Plan software. Clinicians can create individualized medication-adjustment plans based on pressure changes and send instructions to patients through the app.
Abbott said the app and Dynamic Treatment Plan were expected to become available later in 2026. The features are intended to help patients understand their condition and stay connected with their care teams between visits.
