Nine additional pharmaceutical manufacturers agreed to offer certain medicines to state Medicaid programs at “most-favored-nation” prices—the lowest prices they charge in comparable developed countries. The administration says the new agreements bring the total to 26 companies and cover roughly 89% of the branded-drug market.

The headline savings are not yet fully verifiable. The companies and White House have not clearly specified how many products are covered or the precise discounts, and state Medicaid participation is optional—leaving the actual effect on government spending and patients uncertain.

The deals largely target Medicaid and cash-paying consumers rather than people with private insurance. They are part of a broader strategy that includes TrumpRx and tariff-related incentives, while outside analysis has found that participating drugmakers still raised list prices on many medicines earlier in 2026.
