Roche has struck a research collaboration and license agreement with Dualitas Therapeutics focused on discovering novel bispecific antibodies for immunology and inflammation diseases.
Dualitas will use its DualScreen bispecific discovery engine to functionally screen more than 300,000 novel bispecific combinations, which the company says is one of the largest-scale bispecific discovery efforts to date.
Roche is paying $36.5 million upfront, and the deal could reach up to $1 billion including research, development, and commercial milestones, plus tiered royalties.
Under the agreement, Dualitas handles the discovery and screening work, while Roche takes over subsequent preclinical development, regulatory, manufacturing, and commercialization activities.
