Roche Licenses Simcere’s SIM0660 in Deal Worth Up to $1.53 Billion

Roche has agreed to license Simcere Zaiming’s experimental antibody SIM0660 in a deal worth up to $1.53 billion.

Roche will pay $75 million upfront; approximately $1.455 billion is tied to development, regulatory, and commercial milestones.

SIM0660 is a preclinical tri-specific T-cell engager targeting CD79a and CD19 on B cells, plus CD3 on T cells.

The deal grants Roche exclusive global rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize the drug, with Simcere eligible for tiered royalties reaching double-digit percentages on future sales.

The candidate could be developed for B-cell malignancies and other B-cell-mediated diseases, including potential autoimmune indications, but Roche has not announced specific trial timelines.

Because SIM0660 remains preclinical, the headline value is contingent and carries substantial development risk.
