Merck has secured exclusive worldwide rights to SPR2015, SciBrunch Therapeutics’ experimental oral KRAS G12D inhibitor, in a licensing deal announced September 28, 2026. The transaction has closed.
SciBrunch receives $400 million upfront and may earn up to $1.73 billion in development, commercialization and other milestone payments, bringing the stated potential total to $2.13 billion.
SPR2015 is a preclinical molecular-glue inhibitor designed to target the active form of KRAS G12D, a cancer-driving mutation. It has shown activity in laboratory cell models, but has not yet entered human testing; its safety and effectiveness in people remain unknown.
Merck says it will record a $400 million pretax charge—about $0.13 per share—in its third-quarter 2026 results.
