GSK to license Hutchmed cancer drug for $110 million upfront

GSK has agreed to pay Hutchmed $110 million upfront for rights to HMPL-A830, an experimental cancer drug aimed at solid tumors.

The deal gives GSK worldwide rights outside Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

HMPL-A830 is described as a first-in-class KRAS-EGFR antibody-targeted therapy conjugate, with initial development focused on colorectal, pancreatic and lung cancers.

Hutchmed could receive up to about $1.295 billion in total, including up to $1.185 billion in development, regulatory and commercial milestones, plus tiered royalties.

Hutchmed will retain rights in Greater China and lead the global Phase I trial, expected to start in the second half of 2026.

The agreement is subject to customary closing conditions, including antitrust review.
