GE HealthCare expands CareIntellect with AI for hospital operations

On September 15, 2026, GE HealthCare announced CareIntellect™ for Operations, an AI-enabled software-as-a-service application for hospital and health-system operations.

The platform analyzes hundreds of clinical and operational data points—including bed availability, staffing, patient delays, wait times, and ancillary services—to identify emerging bottlenecks up to 72 hours in advance.

Its Pressure Forecast model predicts constraints across units and departments, while the Estimated Day of Discharge model updates patient discharge estimates hourly.

The system provides recommended actions related to discharge, imaging, transfers, capacity, and throughput, helping operational leaders move from reacting to problems to proactively managing them.

The Queen’s Health Systems and Duke Health are the first announced implementation and clinical-evaluation sites.

CareIntellect for Operations runs on Amazon Web Services and is available directly from GE HealthCare and through AWS Marketplace.
