ArsenalBio announced on August 31, 2026, that it is pivoting from ex vivo cell-therapy development to in vivo CAR-T programs.
The restructuring will eliminate 99 jobs—described as a majority of the company’s workforce—leaving a smaller core team focused on the new strategy.
Development of the company’s ex vivo clinical assets has stopped, and ArsenalBio is seeking strategic opportunities or potential homes for existing technologies and assets.
The pivot builds on ArsenalBio’s work in T-cell biology, synthetic biology, computation, and cell engineering. The company hopes in vivo CAR-T could broaden treatment applications, including blood cancers and autoimmune diseases.
The move follows a 2025 restructuring that cut the workforce roughly in half, leaving about 127 employees. Its previously highlighted lead program, AB-2100, no longer appears on the company’s current pipeline.
