AbbVie partners with Iambic on AI drug discovery

AbbVie announced a multi-year collaboration with Iambic to accelerate AI-driven small-molecule drug discovery.

The partnership will focus on immunology, neuroscience, and oncology, with an emphasis on first-in-class and best-in-class therapies.

AbbVie will use Iambic’s molecular superintelligence platform, including Enchant v3 and NeuralPLexer, to optimize drug candidates across many properties simultaneously.

Enchant v3 is described as a next-generation multimodal transformer model trained on more than 6,000 molecular properties.

Financial terms were not fully disclosed, but reports say Iambic will receive an upfront payment, could earn milestone payments, and may receive tiered royalties on future product sales.

The deal adds to Iambic’s growing list of pharma partnerships and comes as the company has also moved toward an IPO filing.
