Telesis Bio’s Gibson SOLA targets faster AI-driven drug discovery

Telesis Bio announced recent commercial licensing agreements with several AI-native drug-discovery companies for its Gibson SOLA® platform, according to a May 28, 2025 release.

Gibson SOLA brings automated, enzymatic DNA synthesis in-house, allowing researchers to convert AI-generated molecular designs into experimental constructs without waiting weeks for an external provider.

The platform is designed to generate hundreds to thousands of DNA constructs per day for antibody expression and screening, with a reported potential cycle time of about 36 hours from AI hypothesis to experimental result.

Telesis Bio says the platform combines AI-powered sequence design, modular enzymatic synthesis, and standard liquid-handling automation. It can produce high-fidelity DNA and mRNA on demand, potentially overnight.

The company’s claimed benefit is a faster AI-to-biology feedback loop:
more experimental data can be generated sooner, helping AI models improve and accelerating therapeutic-candidate development.

The announcement follows Telesis Bio’s May 2025 licensing agreement with Regeneron to deploy Gibson SOLA in its R&D core facilities, supporting rapid, on-site gene synthesis.
