Roche’s U.S. subsidiary Genentech plans to invest approximately $750 million to expand its manufacturing campus in Hillsboro, Oregon, near Portland.
The project will roughly double the existing facility’s size and add end-to-end fill-finish capabilities for injectable medicines and delivery devices, including prefilled syringes and autoinjectors.
Commercial operations are expected to begin in 2031.
The expansion is projected to create about 250 high-wage manufacturing jobs and approximately 200 construction jobs during development.
Roche says the flexible facility will support both low- and high-volume production across its future medicines pipeline, improving U.S. manufacturing capacity and patient access to at-home delivery devices.
