BioCytics, Inc., and LIDE Biotech have announced a strategic alliance to develop advanced screening platforms and companion diagnostics for immune-based cancer cell therapies.
The collaboration combines BioCytics' cell manufacturing capabilities with LIDE Biotech's patient-derived xenograft technologies (PDX, miniPDX, and IO-based PDX models) to accelerate the development of immuno-oncology treatments.
The initial phase of the project will create murine PDX models using human biospecimens from an IRB-approved BioCytics tumor and immune cell collection study that began in 2007 and is still ongoing.
These models will be used in in vivo validation studies to assess drug resistance, induced cell death, and immune responses, with additional DNA and RNA sequencing planned to study anti-tumor immune cell function.
The alliance aims to streamline the discovery and development of more effective immune-based cancer cell therapies, marking a significant step forward in biotechnology collaboration in the oncology space.
