Lilly’s obesity pill Foundayo slightly misses Q2 forecasts as injectables Mounjaro and Zepbound surge

Eli Lilly's newly launched obesity pill, Foundayo, generated $98 million in sales in Q2 2026, slightly below the consensus estimate of about $103 million, marking a modest disappointment among analysts.

Foundayo's debut quarter fell short of expectations even as Lilly's injectable GLP-1 drugs Mounjaro and Zepbound posted stellar growth, with Mounjaro revenue up 91% to $9.94 billion and Zepbound at $4.93 billion, collectively driving 64.7% of Lilly's total revenue.

The strong injectable performance underscores ongoing boom in GLP-1 obesity and diabetes therapies, while oral competitors like Novo Nordisk's Wegovy pill also underperformed expectations in the quarter, highlighting a competitive but challenging environment for obesity pills.
