Gilead's HIV PrEP Franchise Hits $1B+ Quarterly Sales, With Yeztugo Growth Tempered by Durability Concerns

Gilead's HIV PrEP franchise posted quarterly sales above $1 billion for the first time in Q2 2026, more than doubling year‑over‑year and now running at roughly a $4 billion annual pace.

Driving this were Descovy PrEP sales of about $801 million (up 60% YoY) and the long‑acting injectable Yeztugo, which notched $232 million in the quarter, up 40% sequentially and now guiding to about $1 billion in full‑year 2026 sales.

Analysts praised Yeztugo's strong early uptake and more than 70% persistency at six months, but question whether current growth is sustainable given dependence on patient switches from oral PrEP, pricing pressure, and the need for broader PrEP‑market adoption to justify multi‑billion‑dollar peak forecasts.
