Chiesi Highlights Rare-Disease Research and Community Support at SSIEM 2026

Chiesi Global Rare Diseases announced on August 28, 2026, that it presented research at the SSIEM 2026 Annual Symposium in Helsinki, Finland, held August 25–28.

The company supported 13 scientific abstracts:
six Chiesi-led presentations and seven independent studies backed through research grants and educational projects.

Research focused on Fabry disease and alpha-mannosidosis, with topics including patient-reported challenges, long-term safety and efficacy of pegunigalsidase alfa, shorter infusion times, disease detection, and genotype–phenotype relationships.

Chiesi also sponsored sessions on treatment options for Fabry disease and next-generation approaches to lysosomal storage-disorder care, including the potential role of data, digital health, and artificial intelligence.
