AusperBio raises $120 million to advance hepatitis B therapy toward Phase 3 and commercialization

AusperBio Therapeutics closed a $120 million Series C financing on August 27, 2026, bringing its total capital raised since 2024 to approximately $360 million.

The financing was led by an unnamed strategic investor, with new participation from RA Capital Management and continued backing from HanKang Capital, Sherpa Capital, InnoPinnacle Fund, Qiming Venture Partners, YuanBio Venture Capital, and CDH Investments.

Proceeds will fund AHB-137, an investigational unconjugated antisense oligonucleotide for chronic hepatitis B, through its Phase 3 registrational program in China and toward commercialization readiness.

AHB-137 is designed to reduce hepatitis B surface antigen production, inhibit viral DNA replication, and promote immune reactivation, with the goal of achieving a functional cure rather than lifelong viral suppression.

The company will also accelerate AHB-171, an HBV-targeted siRNA candidate using its Au-HALO delivery platform, along with next-generation combination therapies and other targeted oligonucleotide programs.

AusperBio says AHB-137 produced encouraging Phase 2 results, including reported functional-cure rates in selected patient groups; these findings remain investigational and must be confirmed in larger, controlled Phase 3 testing.
