Vertex acquires Crinetics Pharmaceuticals for about $10 billion in cash, its largest deal to date, expanding its rare‑disease and endocrinology portfolio.
Vertex will pay $85 per share for Crinetics, representing a roughly 102% premium to its prior closing price, with combined endocrinology assets carrying potential for more than $5 billion in peak annual sales.
The deal, expected to close in Q3 2026, adds Crinetics’ oral acromegaly drug PALSONIFY and late‑stage ACTH receptor antagonist atumelnant (for congenital adrenal hyperplasia) to Vertex’s pipeline, and is anticipated to be accretive to non‑GAAP operating income by 2029.
