Viridian's Lumvoa is the first FDA-approved rival to Amgen's Tepezza in thyroid eye disease (TED), approved in June 2026 with a label covering both active and chronic disease stages.
Lumvoa offers a shorter treatment course (five infusions over 12 weeks vs. Tepezza's eight infusions over about 24 weeks), with similar anti-IGF-1R mechanism and comparable price (around $450,000 per course).
Analysts believe Lumvoa is a strong competitor due to its shorter regimen, broader label, and strong clinical data, but both Lumvoa and Tepezza may face future pressure from a subcutaneous (SC) version of Tepezza and other pipeline therapies.
