Eli Lilly's triple agonist, retatrutide, met primary endpoints in two additional Phase 3 obesity trials (TRIUMPH-2 and TRIUMPH-3), delivering up to ~20–22.6% weight loss at 80 weeks.
The drug is a once-weekly GIP, GLP-1, glucagon triple hormone receptor agonist, with one of the highest weight loss profiles seen in clinical trials to date.
Lilly plans to submit a Biologics License Application (BLA) to the FDA in Q1 2027, with global regulatory submissions for obesity, knee osteoarthritis pain, and obstructive sleep apnea expected around the same timeframe.
