Doctronic acquires Summer Health to expand into pediatric care

AI doctor startup Doctronic has acquired Summer Health, a text-based pediatric care platform, to expand into pediatric telehealth.

The deal, announced on July 29, 2026, will fold Summer Health’s on-demand pediatric service into Doctronic’s AI‑native primary care platform.

Summer Health has supported more than 100,000 pediatric encounters for tens of thousands of families, providing Doctronic with a rich dataset of real‑world pediatric text conversations to train pediatric‑specific AI models.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, and Summer Health will transition to an AI‑based triage that can escalate to a pediatrician on Doctronic’s platform.

Doctronic plans to roll out pediatrics nationwide soon while also building stronger AI guardrails suitable for safe, high‑quality pediatric care.
