Claris collects $118M to take eye drop into pivotal testing next year

Claris Biotherapeutics has raised $118 million in a Series B financing to advance its experimental eye drop, CSB-001, into pivotal testing in 2027 for the blinding corneal disease limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD).

The funds will support late-stage clinical development, including planned pivotal studies in the first half of 2027 involving about 400 LSCD patients, primary efficacy endpoints focused on visual acuity and anatomical measures.

Claris will also use the proceeds to advance ongoing proof-of-concept and non-interventional natural history studies in LSCD, as well as pre-commercialization activities, with proof-of-concept data expected in the second half of 2026.
