Takeda's AI‑designed psoriasis pill beats Bristol Myers Squibb's Sotyktu in Phase 3 head‑to‑head trial

Takeda's investigational AI-designed oral psoriasis drug zasocitinib has outperformed Bristol Myers Squibb's Sotyktu in a Phase 3 head-to-head trial, achieving complete skin clearance (PASI 100) in more than 35% of patients at 16 weeks, over 2.5 times the rate seen with Sotyktu.

Zasocitinib, a tyrosine kinase 2 inhibitor developed with artificial intelligence, also met all primary and key secondary endpoints, including PASI 90 and physician global assessment scores, demonstrating statistical superiority over Sotyktu on all measured outcomes.

Safety data showed zasocitinib was generally well tolerated with no new safety concerns, aligning with previous trials, and Takeda plans to submit to the FDA later this year for approval in moderate‑to‑severe plaque psoriasis.
