Nura Bio, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing neuroprotective small‑molecule therapies, has completed a $73.8 million Series B financing round to advance its SARM1 inhibitor pipeline for neurodegenerative diseases.
Proceeds will fund clinical proof‑of‑biology studies for the two lead candidates, NB‑4746 and NB‑9402, including the Phase Ib/IIa study of NB‑4746 in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and the first‑in‑human Phase Ia trial of NB‑9402 in healthy volunteers.
SARM1 is a neuronally enriched NAD hydrolase that acts as a central driver of axon degeneration; inhibiting it is intended to block the axon‑intrinsic metabolic cascade that leads to nerve‑fiber loss, with potential across ALS, peripheral neuropathy, and ocular neurological diseases.
