Lilly bets $3B+ to add China's Haisco to growing list of partners in five‑program pact – June 2–3, 2026 update
Eli Lilly has entered a licensing and research collaboration with China's Haisco Pharmaceutical Group on up to five early‑stage drug programs, potentially worth up to $3.05 billion in total funding plus tiered single‑digit royalties on future sales.
Under the agreement Lilly pays Haisco up to $87 million upfront and in near‑term milestones, with up to about $2.97 billion in additional downstream clinical, regulatory, and commercial milestones.
Lilly will lead IND‑enabling studies, clinical development, and global commercialization; Haisco will retain rights in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan for certain programs, while Lilly secures worldwide or ex‑Greater‑China rights for others.
The specific disease areas and molecules are not yet disclosed, although Haisco’s internal pipeline spans oncology, pain management, metabolic diseases, CNS, and other areas.
