Insilico lands heavily backloaded $2.5B AI drug discovery deal with SK Biopharm

Insilico Medicine has entered a collaboration with SK Biopharmaceuticals for AI-powered drug discovery in neuroimmune disorders, valued at up to $2.5 billion when including development, regulatory, and commercial milestones as well as royalties on net sales upon commercialization. The deal structure is heavily backloaded; Insilico will receive only around $18 million in upfront and near-term milestone payments, with the bulk of the potential value contingent on future deliverables. The partnership focuses on discovering novel therapeutics for neuroinflammatory, neurodegenerative, and rare neurological disorders affecting the central nervous system, leveraging Insilico's Pharma.AI platform and SK Biopharmaceuticals' CNS development and commercialization expertise. This accord represents the largest deal Insilico has secured with an Asia‑Pacific partner to date and was announced at the BIO International Convention in San Diego.
