Helmed by Sanofi vet, Bionyra emerges with $165M and three licensed I&I assets

Bionyra Pharma, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing next-generation biologics for immune‑mediated inflammatory diseases, has emerged from stealth with an oversubscribed Series A financing of $165 million co‑led by Jeito Capital and Sofinnova Partners.

The company is helmed by Frédéric Marrache, MD, PhD, MBA, a former Sanofi executive who was head of immunology R&D at Sanofi, and focuses initially on atopic dermatitis and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Bionyra’s launch is built around three licensed immunology and inflammation (I&I) assets—all monoclonal or multispecific antibodies—licensed from Chinese and U.S. firms, including two next‑generation monoclonal and bispecific antibodies from TrueLab Biopharmaceutical valued up to $985 million in potential milestones.

The $165‑million round will fund clinical advancement of these assets, with plans to move all three into Phase 1 trials by the end of 2026, generate proof‑of‑concept data by 2028, and expand additional preclinical programs in severe immune‑mediated inflammatory diseases.
