cAMPfield Therapeutics recently raised $180 million in a Series A financing round to advance its oral PDE4B-selective inhibitor, prifemilast, for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), specifically moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
The funding will be used to support global Phase IIb and Phase II trials of prifemilast, which is designed to minimize PDE4D-related gastrointestinal side effects while maintaining anti-inflammatory activity through PDE4B inhibition.
